Chef Fidel Gomez
Head Chef, T'ähä
T'ähä is the vision of Chef Fidel, shaped by his roots in Hidalgo and years of dedication to the craft.
Chef Fidel Gomez was born and raised in Patria Nueva, Hidalgo, Mexico, where food was always at the center of family life. Inspired by the region's markets and ancestral Otomi traditions, he pursued a career in the kitchen that took him across borders and into some of the Midwest's most respected restaurants.
After 25 years of experience in the service and hospitality industry, Chef Fidel returned to his roots to create T'ähä — a place that brings together the flavors of Central Mexico with the techniques he mastered over decades. His cooking reflects a belief in simplicity, precision, and honesty, transforming locally sourced ingredients into dishes that feel both rooted and modern.
T'ähä [TAH-HA] translates to dream in the Otomi language — the ancestral language of the Gomez family. A dream that built a bridge between two land-locked worlds: Hidalgo, Mexico and Missouri, USA. Family run and operated, T'ähä commits itself to creating a space that goes beyond food and beverage.

A Taste
of T'ÄHÄ
A glimpse of the dishes that define our approach — seasonal, intentional, and full of flavor. These highlights offer just a taste of what you'll find on the menu.

Taha is such a fun spot — really cute ambience for a Mexican restaurant just off the Plaza. The espresso martini was exceptional, and the Paloma was great too. We loved the creamy cheese dip, and the chips and salsa trio looked and tasted amazing. We tried the octopus tacos and the three enchiladas (chicken, cheese, and beef), and everything was delicious. The service was delightful — our server was super helpful and made the experience even better. Loved it and would definitely go back.

Probably my favorite upscale Mexican restaurant in the city. I've had both the chicken asada and the octopus and both were great. The trio of dipping sauces they serve with tortilla chips is also a great addition.

We've been here a few times now and have enjoyed a lot! The restaurant has a great cozy atmosphere and the food is always delicious. They have good drink and mocktail options as well so any group should find something they'll enjoy. We like their charro beans a lot and they usually offer three different salsas to have with chips at the beginning of the meal.

Been several times for lunch and dinner. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere are consistently outstanding.

The food was so good and so fresh. Good craft drinks. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and husband got enchiladas. Both were 10/10! Chips and salsa… yes please! Can't wait to go back!
Stefanie
Was a great spot for a late valentine's day dinner. Food was off the chart. Spicy Carrot Margarita was great. Fun atmosphere and staff was fantastic.
Michael Peerson
Service was outstanding! We had a group of 12 for a birthday and they cut the cake we brought in and even brought out a candle. Ceviche was delicious. Everyone raved about the margaritas.
Haley Smith

The food was among the best we've tried in two weeks in KC. The staff was extremely friendly, and the place is spotless. Menu was very diverse and had great prices
